Republican Party: You Created Trump!

It is very interesting to note that the Republican Party is in a tizzy trying to figure out how to keep Donald J. Trump from completely destroying them!  Many of my Republican friends were adamant that he wouldn’t be their nominee.  They kept saying wait until the Fall when it gets closer to the primaries.  They said he would flame out.  They said he was a joke.  Well, I guess the jokes on them!  It seems as if he is at the very minimum maintaining his lead.  Now, they want to do something to take him down.  Oh well Republicans, you are the blame as you created Trump or any other racist, misogynist, xenophobic presidential candidate.

For years, mainstream Republicans have said things with “a wink and a nod” that were veiled in racism and sexism.  Some of the policies promoted like voter ID laws, going after Planned Parenthood are draped in it.  Or, by consistently challenging the birth place of President Barack Obama, promoting he’s not trustworthy, challenging his Christianity or calling him a witch doctor and so on.  Or, my favorites that are currently in the atmosphere is “Take Our Country Back” or “Make America Great Again”. But to your credit, you were merely fanning the flames, right?

The chickens are now coming home to roost.  You’ve failed to get anything done in congress and your base is fed up.  You haven’t done anything to stop this black man that happens to be the President of the United States.  Seriously, there are white Americans that are generally mad that our president is black.  Nothing to do with his policy, but the color of his skin.  I digress.  Back to the subject at hand.  You have fanned the flames so much, your whole party is about to burn up because Trump, Cruz and most of your candidates are alienating African Americans, Hispanics, Women, LGBT and a large segment of young people.  You’ve allowed this vitriolic rhetoric to go on far too long. You’ve participated in it by not standing up to them a long time ago.  Why is that, it is because you want the votes…from a small segment of the electorate so bad that you are willing to blow up an entire party.  You’ve allowed your candidates and others on the furthest right of your party dictate the narrative for you.   The Republican Party has been derelict in its duty to inform and educate the electorate on its platform.  Instead, you’ve let Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and others lay it out for us. How’s that working for you?  You have no one to thank for your mess but yourselves. Bravo! #PoliticalPearl
